Approaching from the North, turn left into car park just before the Eagle Inn GR 530477. Lauder is 28 miles from Peebles via Stow. Walk starts here at 11am. Using SU Way up Chester Hill, cross Lauder Burn, flank of Staunchley Hill to open moorland of Lauder Common. Brown Rig, Scarce Law, into town and return to start. [Tweeddale]

Monday 21 April A, B & C walks
In conjunction with the new John Muir Way from Dunbar to Helensburgh being launched during the week 21 to 26 April, Ramblers Scotland has asked us to organise a walk between Dunbar and North Berwick on Monday 21 April. Scottish Ramblers Groups will be doing the other stages. A&B Walkers will start from Dunbar Swimming Pool (12mls) at 9.30am and C walkers from East Linton at 12.30pm (6mls). Return by bus. OS65. Joint walk with Glasgow Ramblers. Circular from Falkirk. Rough Castle and Union Canal. Starting from Falkirk High Station, we follow the towpath of the Union Canal, where we join the route of the Antonine Wall. We pass close to the Falkirk Wheel, and reach the site of the Roman fort known as Rough Castle, near Bonnybridge. From there we walk past St Helen’s Loch to High Bonnybridge. After some road walking, we take a farm track through Beam Farm, and then follow a long very straight but pleasant track. We descend through Kilbean Woods to the Glen Burn, to re-join the Union Canal. The towpath goes through a tunnel, but there is an alternative route available for anyone who does not wish to go though the tunnel. The walk finishes back at Falkirk High Station.
